Position: Senior Naval Consultant
Position Summary
Vigilant Cyber Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced former U.S. Navy Surface
Warfare Officer to serve as a consulting advisor. The ideal candidate will have served as a senior officer aboard a surface ship (Commanding Officer, Executive Officer). This role involves advising on the transition, integration, and operational alignment of advanced shipboard readiness assessment tools. The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel as required. The workload is expected to average 40 hours per month but may vary.
Key Responsibilities
• Transition and Integration Planning – Develop clear roadmaps for moving
technology from prototype to shipboard deployment, including requirements,
certification steps, and approval processes.
• Networking and Business Development – Leverage professional network to connect
with decision-makers, facilitate meetings, and identify opportunities for technology
adoption across Navy platforms.
• Meeting & Review Preparation – Support preparation for Navy reviews, ensuring
accurate documentation, correct terminology, and alignment with Navy operational
language.
• Operational Use Case Development – Provide realistic operational scenarios and
align outputs with mission decision-making criteria, serving as the operational voice
of experience.
Qualifications
• Former U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer; prior service as CO or XO strongly
preferred.
• Deep understanding of Navy operations, certification processes, and review
structures.
• Ability to translate between technical development teams and operational Navy
stakeholders.
• Existing network with Navy leadership, program offices, and operational
communities is highly desirable.
