Position: SkillBridge Internship – Software Development & Navy Systems

Position Summary
Vigilant Cyber Systems, Inc. (VCS) is seeking a SkillBridge intern who has served aboard a Navy ship and has some software development experience. This role combines hands-on software development with applying operational Navy experience to ensure software tools are relevant, usable, and effective for shipboard environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the design, development, and testing of the software tool and user
interfaces.
• Leverage Navy experience to provide realistic operational use cases, mission
requirements, and decision-making criteria.
• Review and provide feedback on user interfaces for clarity and usability in shipboard
environments.
• Assist with preparing documentation, presentations, and demonstrations for Navy
reviews and stakeholders.
• Engage with Navy contacts and stakeholders to expand awareness and identify new
applications for the tool.

Qualifications
• Served aboard a U.S. Navy ship (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience in software development (preferred)
• Strong understanding of Navy operations, mission structures, and watch stander
workflows.
• Experience with software development tools and processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Location & Duration
This is a SkillBridge internship opportunity. The position is primarily remote, with potential travel for Navy meetings or demonstrations. Duration will align with SkillBridge program requirements.
