Job Title: Penetration Tester

Job Description: The work will be primarily to identify, exploit, and document cyber vulnerabilities in military systems such as aircraft, smart bombs, drones, etc.

Training Plan:

Length of Time: 100 Work Days (Roughly 5 months)

Timeline: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week

Training Modules:
Computer Security Background (Security+, Certified Advanced Security Practitioner, CEH)
o Objectives: familiarity with IT terminology, methodologies, and architectures
Cyber Physical Systems Background (VCS Proprietary Training with Skill Test)
o Objectives: familiarity with operational technology terminologies, methodologies, and architectures
Penetration Testing Practical Training (Offensive Security Certified Professional – OSCP)
o Objectives: familiarity with penetration testing tools, techniques, and mindset

Type of Instructional Model: Online instruction, laboratory instruction (virtual), in-person lab segment for cyber physical system rotation. Each day will consist of 1 hour of instruction and setup from the instructor, followed by 6.5 hours of independent learning, followed by a 30 minute recap and Q&A session with the instructor.

Instructor Qualification: Current penetration tester with at least 3 years of experience, Security+, CASP (or CISSP), and OSCP certifications.

Assessments:
Passing Security+ – Required – 3rd party certification
Passing Certified Advanced Security Practitioner – Required – 3rd party certification
Passing Certified Ethical Hacker – Required – 3rd party certification
Passing VCS Internal Skill Test for CPS – Required
Passing OSCP – Preferred – 3rd party certification

Training Outcome:

Applicants will have an adequate baseline of understanding of both traditional IT and OT security architectures, systems, techniques, and tools. They will also hold several important industry recognized certifications, at least Security+, CASP, and CEH, and advanced students will achieve OSCP as well.
